Mower County Historical Society

The Mower County Historical Society’s mission is to discover, collect, preserve, and share the history of Mower County and relate it to the state of Minnesota. The Mower County Historical Society, founded in 1947, began with a group of pioneers who were honored that year at the Mower County Fair. Today MCHS has 17 buildings onsite. The Society has been collecting artifacts and archival materials since its founding, “Preserving today for tomorrow’s history”. 


The Mower County Historical Society is open year round Tuesday through Friday from 10 am to 4 pm. Tour Season officially runs May through October or by appointment.
