Description
Material, Worked: Two pieces of wood that were recorded as being from Abraham Lincolns Railroad car after it had been destroyed in 1911. Wood chips from window sill of railroad car that carried body of Abraham Lincoln from Washington to Springfield IL. Car was later exhibited in various cities, and finally burned in railroad yards at Minneapolis. Henry Voegeli saved these chips, gave them to Miss Helen Stickles who later gave them to this Society.
