Flag: World War II navy blue wool U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary flag. The flag is 49 1/4" long x 28 3/4" wide. In the center of the flag is a grayish white emblem of the Coast Guard Auxiliary (A double circle with a U.S. shield with vertical stripes in the center circle and "U.S. COAST GUARD/AUXILIARY" in the outer circle. The emblem is of the same piece as the flag. The emblem is outlined with a thick black stitched border. Behind the circles are two crossed anchors. There is a cream canvas hoisting edge. On each end of the hoisting edge is a metal grommet. Stamped in black on the hoisting edge is "PRESENTED BY ADMIRAL RUSSELL WAESCHE TO/FLOTILLA #7 DIV. #1 MAY 26, 1943 U.S.C.G. AUX. NO. 1". On the same side of the hoisting edge is a white label with red "American Flag Co./Manufacturers/New York". Presented by Admiral Russell Waesche to Flotilla #7, Div. #1 on May 26, 1943.
