United States flag with 48 stars. The flag is cotton. It is 112" long x 58" wide. In the upper left corner is blue with 48 white stars in 6 horizontal rows of 8 stars. The back of the stars have tan stiff backing. There are 13 red and white stripes. There is a hoisting edge. Condition - The backing of the stars faded unto the stripes and stained them. The flag was used on the casket of Harry Larson. Harry Larson was from Red Wing. He was a Technical Sergeant in the Army in World War II. He died on September 18, 1944, of wounds received over Germany. He was buried at the U.S. Military cemetery at Bari, Italy.
