Ivory wedding gown with lace and a pink hem band. The veil of the wedding ensemble was ankle length. The crown had waxy off-white beads/flowers with green leaves. There is a fabric remnant with dress (2003.37.3b) - 58 x 5.25 in. Shoulders:14 in Chest:17.75 in Waist:17 in Hem:55 in Length:49 in Satin fabric is shattered throughout, very fragile and lace is deteriorated on bottom of dress. Large tear along zipper and evidence of previous repairs under proper left arm and up along shoulder. Holes at front center where collar attaches. Large holes and staining along proper right arm. Ruth was born 27 January 1906 in Minot, ND and died 26 August 1983 in Glenwood, MN. Before Ruth was married she worked in the Dining Hall at the WSCA. Ruth married Carl Oscar Beckstrom on 1 October 1930. Oscar and Ruth have two daughters; Beverly Carlson and Lois Wagner. Ruth was active at First Lutheran Church in Morris holding several volunteer positions. She loved a good game of Bridge. After the tragic accident of Oscar on 19 February 1962 she continued to live in Morris until poor health required moving to the Glenwood Retirement Home the last 3 years of her life.
