The images are slightly different from each other, and when seen through a viewer, produce a three dimensional effect. This series depicts "McCarthy's Wake" and was printed by William H. Rau in Philadelphia. They were sold through Universal View Co of Philadelphia Pa. and Lawerence Kan. They were copyrighted in 1897 by William H .Rau. The first image is of several people gathered around a man in a coffin. They are listening to banjo music and drinking. "A Bully Good Fellow Was He." In the second image, they are raising a glass to the departed and giving him a drink too. "May He Rest in Peace" The third image, "A Free For All" shows everyone in a bar brawl. In the last image, McCarthy Comes Back to Life as everyone stares in amazement.
