Description
A section of the 12 in. pipeline operated by Dome Pipeline Co.; used for transporting 110,000 barrels of product (Propane, Ethane, Ethylene, and Butane) each day at 14 pounds of pressure; pipeline runs from Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada, through North Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa, through Chicago, Detroit, and finally to Sarnia, Ontario, Canada; there are pump stations at fifty-five mile intervals along the insulated still (non-movable) pipe, each of which has 2000-3500 HP electric motors to pump the products through; the nearest stations to Stevens County are at Wheaton and Benson; the station at Benson has access to the lines and can take products off the line.
