Description
Musket. According to the Pink Card it was donated in 1947 by Oscar Max of Farwell. They called it a 1867 Gun. According to the internet research on the markings, it is a Potsdam musket made in 1832 and probably imported for use in the Civil War. It is a muzzle leaded gun with what looks like a home-made ramrod. It has a percussion cap mechanism. The word OHIO is stamped on the butt, so it may have been used by an Ohio unit in the Civil War.
