"This rectangular shaped purse, snap-fastened at the top, is 5 1/4 inches long and 3 3/8 inches wide. It is made of black satin and the front is completely beaded, with the initials "S.I.S." (Sequoyah Indian School) embroidered in front center. (This means it was made by a Cherokee Indian orphan.) The handle is of red and black beads; amber, black, red and aqua beads are used as fringes at the bottom; and the edges are beaded in red." The black beads are faceted.
