Description
"Legging. This rectangle of black sateen is appliqued in flowers of all colors sprouting from a green stem appliqued the entire length of the piece. Such a piece as this was fastened around the leg to be used as a legging. It is a copy of an earlier legging made by the Chippewa Indians from fine quality broad-cloth with ribbon appliques and was reproduced here in order to preserve the original design."
